Douglas Green
President

Doug is one of the founders of APT and has been employed by the company since its start in 2003. As President of APT, Doug keeps busy in all facets of the business, but has special interest in the engineering and R&D efforts of the company.  Doug was instrumental in coming up with the idea for the patent pending process to harden the peat granule, which has become the basis for our APTsorb line of products.

Prior experience includes over 20 years involvement in the Alaskan mining industry as an owner and operator of several remote placer mines.  Concurrent exploration activities included precious metals, base metals, and coal exploration.  Doug has an additional ten years’ experience in the Alaskan construction industry included road construction, military shooting range construction, and aggregate supply.

Doug received a M.S. degree in Geology from Utah State University.


Ryan C. Menzel
Vice President, Operations & Safety

Ryan joined the APT team in 2006 after returning from Afghanistan while serving in the military.  Initially hired on as a plant operator, Ryan proved his versatility and moved around within the company and spent time working in each department.  In 2008, he began developing and establishing a safety program with the help of the MN Safety Council and took on the role of Safety Director.  By 2009, Ryan had also taken on the responsibility of Plant Manager and focused on operations and safety.  The Board of Directors voted him in as Vice President of Operations & Safety in early 2011.

Ryan has B.A. in Management from The College of St. Scholastica and an M.B.A. from Capella University.  He is a member of the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME), the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).


Mark Krezowski

Prior to joining the APT team, Mark was a successful entrepreneur and intrapreneur with four companies spanning 27 years. His positions within the computer and semiconductor industries included global sales, marketing and programs responsibilities as well as business unit responsibilities with JAI Inc., SUN Microsystems, ST Microelectronics, and Intel.  At 50, Mark decided to leave these California based industries to devote himself to growing business opportunities within his Northern Minnesota community. Mark holds Mechanical, Industrial and Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of Minnesota, as well as an M.B.A. from Saint Thomas University.

Mark’s history of community service includes serving as a McGregor Airport Commissioner, Commercial Pilot Search & Rescue, Aitkin County Sheriff’s Posse, National Ski Patrol, OEC/EMT instructor, MPCA Citizen Lake Monitor, and several other community based volunteer affiliations.


William Forder, P.E.
Executive Advisor

Bill has a successful 38-year business career as founder and president of Faircon, Inc.  He also consults with multiple engineering and forensic engineering firms.  Bill’s experience with government policy and decision-making includes expert testimony to the U.S. Senate Government Affairs Committee.  Bill also has expertise in the areas of indoor air quality and carbon monoxide detection, having been called as an expert witness in nationwide cases.  Bill’s professional engineering associations and advisory committee roles number over 15, ranging in positions from State Energy Code formation to the Governor’s Healthy Homes Technical Advisory Group.  Bill has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Bill’s far reaching community involvement includes Rotarian President, Aitkin County Growth Board of Directors, Blandin Foundation Community Advantage Leadership Program, and Northeast Minnesota Sustainable Development Board and Energy Committee.


Peggy Jones
Lab Manager & Research Chemist

Peggy Wallgren Jones is a native of Twig, Minnesota and a graduate of the University of Minnesota, Duluth (B.S. Biology) and the University of Montana (M.S. Environmental Studies).  Peggy has been with APT since 2008 and has done extensive work in the research and development of our APTsorb line of products.  She works closely with Dr. Igor Kolomitsyn from the NRRI in these efforts and continues to push forward in pioneering new technologies and products.

She has worked as a lab technician for the Peat Program at the Natural Resources Research Institute in Duluth and as a program coordinator for the University of Minnesota Extension Service.  Interestingly, while at NRRI, she was a technician in the early stages of the peat granulation project, and followed the development of the project from its inception.

Besides wastewater remediation, her interests include bog ecology and sustainable agricultural practices.  She is married and has two children.  In her free time, she enjoys hobby farming, golfing, and reading.
