Plant Capabilities

As mentioned on the Ability to Grow page, APT’s plant, warehouse, and offices share a location and have a combined area of nearly 35,000 square feet. Our facility sits on 70+ acres less than one mile from our peat resource.  We currently have 320 acres of land under permit and are in the process of adding an additional 160 acres of land adjacent to the current resource.  At our current production throughput, there is over a 400-year supply of peat resources on the combined 480 acres. We are also working with state and local agencies to identify and develop other local peat recourses to be permitted and utilized in the future.  APT has permitted and access to more than enough peat to meet current and future customer demands.

Our current production facility operates at less than half its potential capacity, leaving more than enough to grow our customer base and meet customer demands.  As future demand warrants, there are already plans in place to increase the current plant throughput by 40%, resulting in an aggregate 50 million pounds of product per year.  Most of the necessary equipment and structure are onsite for the improvement.   We are actively pursuing expanding our customer base and preparing for the growth now.
