Position Description

American Peat Technology is seeking an Operations Coordinator to support the daily functions of the plant by leading our safety program, managing logistics, and providing exceptional customer service and sales support. This position ensures that plant operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, while also serving as a key point of contact between production, shipping/receiving, and customer-facing teams.

The schedule for this position is generally Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.

This position starts at $46,000/year.

This position reports to the Controller.

Position Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or safety-related role

  • High school diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or related field preferred

  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices (OSHA certifications a plus)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety

    • Lead the implementation and enforcement of safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA, etc.).

    • Conduct monthly employee safety meetings.

    • Conduct routine safety inspections and help lead training sessions for plant personnel.

  • Shipping & Receiving

    • Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to ensure timely delivery.

    • Work closely with the production team to track inventory and material flow.

    • Communicate with suppliers and freight companies regarding shipments and delivery schedules.

  • Customer Service

    • Serve as a liaison between the manufacturing plant and customers to address inquiries, order status, and concerns.

    • Ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.

    • Provide proactive updates and solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Other Duties as assigned.
