Position Description
American Peat Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated R&D Lab Technician to support the research and development activities. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting experiments, testing materials, and supporting product development projects. This position plays a critical role in the innovation and continuous improvement efforts of our product lines.
Position could be part-time or full-time.
Pay ranges from $16-$20 depending on experience.
This position reports to the VP of Research and Development.
Job Duties
Assist with preparation and execution of laboratory experiments and trials.
Collect, measure, and record test data accurately in accordance with protocols.
Prepare chemical solutions, mix materials, and operate laboratory equipment safely.
Support the development, testing, and evaluation of new products.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab workspaces, tools, and equipment.
Document procedures, results, and observations in lab.
Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
Position Requirements
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
1–3 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
Familiarity with lab equipment, safety procedures, and data management practices.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
Creative problem solver with a sense of curiosity.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
