Position Description

American Peat Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated R&D Lab Technician to support the research and development activities. The ideal candidate will assist in conducting experiments, testing materials, and supporting product development projects. This position plays a critical role in the innovation and continuous improvement efforts of our product lines.

Position could be part-time or full-time.

Pay ranges from $16-$20 depending on experience.

This position reports to the VP of Research and Development.

Job Duties

  • Assist with preparation and execution of laboratory experiments and trials.

  • Collect, measure, and record test data accurately in accordance with protocols.

  • Prepare chemical solutions, mix materials, and operate laboratory equipment safely.

  • Support the development, testing, and evaluation of new products.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab workspaces, tools, and equipment.

  • Document procedures, results, and observations in lab.

  • Comply with all company safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

Position Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 1–3 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.

  • Familiarity with lab equipment, safety procedures, and data management practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.

  • Creative problem solver with a sense of curiosity.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
